Culpeper Cheese Co. 45 Miler

Start or end your ride with a great selection of beer, wines and cheeses.

One of the great finds in our little town of Culpeper is a great gourmet retailer, the Culpeper Cheese Company.  This shop specializes in local cheeses, great wines and has an awesome selection of beers… especially beers from Belgium, which are a necessity when completing any great bike ride. And there is no better way than to work up that thirst than by completing the Culpeper Cheese Co. 45 miler.

This ride starts right from Culpeper Cheese Co, and heads out past the National Cemetery, down to Rt 3 and over Mt. Pony.  From there the ride winds through some great farmland in Stevensburg and follows Stevensburg Rd into Brandy Station.  Once in Brandy you continue across Rt 29 and onto Alanthus Rd.  Alanthus road is a local cyclists favorite, just be ready for the prevailing head wind!!

At the end of Alanthus, you make a quick left onto Mt. Zion Church Rd and hit the beginning of the hills.  These small rollers continue all the way  until you cross Sperryville Pike (Rt 522). Once across 522, you continue down Norman Rd onto Mountain Run Lake Rd, where you will be greeted with great views of the lake.  Its then back across Rt 29, into White Shop and eventually back into town the way you came.  But as you finish up this ride, just revel in the fact that you can pick up a cold beer right across the street from where you parked!!
