Here in central Virginia we are lucky to have a beautiful fall season. With our great roads and breath-taking views there is no better way to enjoy fall than from the seat of a bike. And with so many great rides taking place every fall it’s no wonder thousands of cyclists flock to our area to take part in many of the organized rides throughout central Virginia and the Great Pumpkin Ride is no exception. Now in its 20th year is a favorite among the locals and out-of-towners.
One of the most beautiful rides takes place again this year on Saturday, October 26th. This ride is a fully-supported that starts and ends in historic Warrenton, Virginia. With route options of 3, 24, 43, and 71 miles, the Pumpkin Ride will appeals to a range of riders — from casual to serious. And with fully stocked rest stops, they make sure you’re well nourished along the way!
The Great Pumpkin Ride is Fauquier Trails Coalition, Inc. annual fundraiser to support the further construction of multi-use trails throughout Fauquier County. In fact, all the day’s rides will start and finish on the Warrenton Branch multi-use trail developed by the Town of Warrenton, Fauquier County, and the Fauquier Trails Coalition, Inc. (a 501(c)3 group).
